Easter Seals B.C. recently passed along a heartwarming note about a member of our UFV baseball family.
Unable to find a summer job this year due to COVID-19, Stephen Horner decided to use his Canadian Emergency Student Benefit (CESB) money to purchase a 3D printer and give back to his community. Stephen built the printer himself and graciously made Easter Seals 50 plastic shield masks and 10 fishbone mask clips. The masks will be used by Easter Seals House staff, plus guests and families using the charity's programs and services, some of whom are highly vulnerable to COVID-19.
Easter Seals B.C. is an organization that responds to the needs and aspirations of Canadians living with disabilities by providing services and support to promote access, inclusion and opportunity.
In an Instagram post, they responded to Stephen's generosity by writing, "Thank you, Stephen, for helping us stay safe and healthy, and for being an inspiration to youth volunteers in our community."
Great work Stephen and thanks for representing the Cascades so well!
