BIOGRAPHY:

As a coach Jordan likes to keep things loose and relaxed, but when its time to work he expects full engagement and commitment from his players.

Jordan has an extensive resume as a player as he spent time at nearly every level in baseball throughout his career. He was drafted three times my Major League Baseball clubs (2004 Toronto, 2005 Milwaukee, 2008 Detroit). Jordan signed with the Detroit Tigers organization, in 2008 reaching as high as Triple-A where he spent three seasons with the Toledo Mud Hens. He was a AA all-star in 2012, a AAA all-star in 2013, played in the 2013 Futures Game and was a minor league Gold Glove winner at first base 2013 and 2014.

He enjoyed a 10 year career in professional baseball. His last two seasons came with the Can Am League's Québec Capitales before he retired in 2017.

Jordan also spent four years with the Canadian National Team. He was the starting first baseman for the squad team that won gold at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. Jordan also suited up for Canada later in 2015 at the WBSC Premier 12 and previously played in the qualification tournament for the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Prior to his pro career, Jordan spent two years of junior college and two years at Oregon State, where he played in the 2007 College World Series and hit three home runs as the Beavers won the national championship.

With this wealth of experience at his disposal Jordan has been an invaluable resource to our players.

Kyle Lotzkar

BIOGRAPHY:

Kyle has been with the UFV program since its inception. He recently finished his Kinesiology degree at UFV and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), which is the only Personal Training certificate program that allows trainers to work with NCAA and professional athletes. Kyle’s number one priority is keeping players healthy and therefore much of the coaching he does revolves around injury prevention. He also specializes in teaching pitching mechanics and movement skills to help pitchers increase their velocity and consistency.

Kyle was selected in the first round (53rd overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft by Cincinnati. He spent six minor league seasons in the Reds system. Kyle was added to Cincinnati's 40 man roster after the 2011 campaign and played in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game. In October 2014, he signed as a free agent with the Texas Rangers organization where he spent two seasons and in 2016 he finished his career with the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

Kyle also played for the Canadian National Team. In 2011, he participated in the 2011 Baseball World Cup, where his crew won bronze, and the Pan Am Games, where they won gold. In 2016 he won a second gold medal with Canada in the Pan Am Games in Toronto. Kyle was also on Canada's provisional roster for the 2009 and 2013 World Baseball Classic but did not play due to injuries.

Wes Darvill

BIOGRAPHY:

Wes has been instrumental in the development of the UFV’s best hitters, infielders, and baserunners. Wes is still an active professional baseball player with the Winnipeg Goldeyes who he joins in May after the CCBC season.
Because Wes is still playing, he can relate to the UFV players on a different level than most coaches. He is also currently working towards completing a Business degree. His mission statement as a coach is to have fun, pursue your dreams, work hard, embrace challenges and be persistent and competitive.

Wes is entering his 11th year of professional baseball, and has won five championships in that span. He participated in Baseball Canada’s Junior National Team (18U) program in 2009 before he was selected in the fifth round of the 2009 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs. He spent seven seasons in Chicago’s organization before signing with the Winnipeg Goldeyes for the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Prior to the 2018 season, Darvill signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and spent the season at Double-A Tulsa while also reaching the Triple-A level. He has since rejoined the Goldeyes where he participated in the American Association All-Star Game.

In January 2019, Darvill played for Team Canada at the Pan Am Games qualifier in Brazil and the Pan Am Games in August where he won a silver medal.

He also played in the Premier 12 tournament in November.
